For this Poland trip, I flew with Ryanair and landed at Warsaw’s WMI airport. There isn’t much up-to-date information online—most of what I found was outdated—so I’m sharing how to get from WMI to central Warsaw in 2025.
From WMI to the city, you can take either a bus or a train. The airport’s official website has the latest info.

Right now, if you search online or ask ChatGPT, you’ll still get the answer “take the Modlin Bus,” but Modlin Bus has already stopped operating. Currently, only Cont Bus and FlixBus are running this route.
Since FlixBus would’ve required me to transfer to the metro to reach my hostel, and Cont Bus has very few departures—and neither of them is particularly cheap—I decided to take the train to Warsaw Central Station instead.
Train
The train route from Modlin Station to the city is operated by KM (Koleje Mazowieckie). Modlin Station is not right next to the airport, so you’ll need to take a shuttle bus. KM offers a discounted combined shuttle + train ticket for PLN 22.4, which you can buy at the KM counter at the airport. You’ll see the counter right after you exit the restricted area, and they accept card payments.
After buying the ticket, just head outside and get on the shuttle. The shuttle schedule matches the train schedule, so when you get off the shuttle you can pretty much walk straight onto the train. (According to the website, the train departs about 5 minutes after the shuttle arrives.) If you’re heading to the city center, get off at Warszawa Główny (Warsaw Central). The whole journey takes around one hour.

One thing to be aware of: when I traveled (June 2025), the shuttle ran twice per hour (at :33 and :54), but the train only ran once per hour (at :14). So it’s best to check the schedule in advance to know whether you’ll need to hurry after landing. If you miss the train, you’ll be waiting another hour.
